Newest Alcohol-Wise research showing raised retention rates and raised GPAs
"Western Illinois University study on Alcohol-Wise and e-CHUG"

Data from the first controlled study examining the efficacy of combining the e-CHUG with Alcohol-Wise are quite encouraging. The outcomes suggest that combining these approaches can lead to significantly higher retention levels and significantly higher GPAs for students who complete the integrated program.

Lane D.J., & Schmidt, J.A. (May 2007). Evaluating Personalized Alcohol Interventions. Poster to be presented at the annual meeting of the Midwestern Psychological Association, Chicago, IL.

Controlled Studies
Our partners at San Diego State University have been involved in multiple independent randomized controlled studies showing the
e-CHUG self-assessment to be a true evidence based approach significantly reducing negative consequences.

" With 6 controlled studies on 5 campuses, all showing significant reductions in destructive alcohol use among college students completing the e-CHUG online intervention, NASPA recognizes
the e-CHUG as a true evidence-based approach that is showing significant promise. "

"NASPA encourages campuses to give serious consideration to including evidence-based programs like the e-CHUG as a part of
their comprehensive AOD prevention strategy."

Kevin Kruger, Associate Executive Director of NASPA
